Is anything mysterious going to happen in Maisie's life in this chapter?

Silas prepared a garden salad (a dish he couldn't mess up) by sourcing for earwax.


Silas: Ooh, it has hairs in it!

Then he washed his hands in the salad, as they do.


Also, dirty dishes end up in every single available slot, and not in the sink! I think maybe that was my fault for leaving MoveObjects on. Anyway, the covered pan has a slot in it! I also didn't notice it had a transparent lid until I saw the dish inside it.


Joey: I'm off to be a corporate goon!

Maisie: At least you got a nice suit. Look at what they have me wearing.

Joey: You haven't noticed they gave me high-top sneakers to go with it.


So Maisie reasoned with the guy, and he was happy.


This is just a pic of Cody having a better day than his humans.


One of the most annoying things about TS4 pets is they can knock over the trash cans and play in the filty piles. I wonder what treasure Wallace was searching for. Probably something edible.


Business work makes Joey VERY ANGRY.


He's gotten himself a work bench at home, for when he needs to blow some steam.


Bentley is a mighty hunter.


I mean, they have almost no space, but their living room/kitchen area is v cozy.


Bentley is a mighty shredder.


But at least the animals get along. Mostly!


Joey: Lucas Dark is such a weird character. And such a weird author. Why did he name the character after himself? Does he want people to think he's actually that crazy?

Just BTW, I have no idea who and what Lucas Dark is a reference to, but it's probably something.


Wallace. Yes.


Cody: And where am I gonna sleep? :(


Filling out work reports is not Joey's favourite.


This is Silas terrified because a meteor was about to clock him in the head. I was going to let it happen, and see if he became a meteor ghost instead, but the meteor kinda failed. Maybe ghosts just can't die? Like, again?


Then he went fishing. BTW, in TS4 ghost colours don't indicate how they died. They're their own mood rings, and purple means he's totally focused, green means happy, orange means uncomfortable, and blue sad, etc. Instead the ghosts have an effect that's related to their cause of death, like the frost coming off Silas.


Joey is totally not pretending that the block of wood is his boss, who he's transforming into a horse. That would be such an improvement for the boss. <3


You know how rich white guys in media always have a room full of the heads of animals they killed? Well, Silas has only ever gotten lucky that one time with the deer, and his own lawyer disputed that hit. Now Silas lives vicariously through his cat, and sleeps beneath a memorial to all the birds Bentley (and sometimes Wallace) have massacred.

So far the rascals have killed pidgeons, crows(!), finches, seagulls(!!), herons and puffins. Where did they catch puffins? Did they go to a zoo or something?


Two chairs, a sofa, three beds, and Bentley sleeps on the floor.


Silas is probably more encouraging to his fur-kids than to his human children.

This is an ongoing relationships, I just posted all the pictures together.


Joey was crying in his sleep. He was probably having a nightmare about paperwork. Poor guy.


Bentley is a face-down sleeper.


While Wallace likes to snooze in the sun. So does Bentley, BTW. What weird cat doesn't?


Oops, sibling disagreement.


Bentley is an absolute menace, for such a scrawny little guy.


The boss punished Joey by making him work in the freezer room again. This has led me to conclude that Joey (and maybe Silas) works for a fish import company.

Joey: If it were ice-cream, it would be worth it.


This is Maisie and Joey camping out in the desert, because there are rare collectables nearby. However! If you want those, your Sims will have to sleep in the area for the night. They only spawn on the second morning.

It's kind of like how the Scheilers and Starblooms have to camp in the pumpkin patch, if they want to loot the pumpkins.




Maisie played chess with this guy who was angry about somthing.


In the evening they were magically transported to a livestock show in England.


While they were showing off their non-existing dance skills, Joey decided it was a great act of role modelling to tell the little kid in the back that he was a mobster.

Joey: My name's Alan Duckling, and my secret villain identity is Duckman Senior.

Maisie: Joey....!!


Next morning, Joey got to play archeologist.


Then he had to wash his hands and brush his teeth on a repeated loop for a while, to get his hygiene up.


Maisie finally got some daisies for her garden.


She played a little tune inspired by the fresh air and sunshine.


And grilled some elote.


Joey was up on a flowery hillside with a bumblebee for company.


Back home, Cody and Bentley seemed to have put the sibling spat behind them.


Joey's been training Cody to pee outside, and Silas has been.... I don't know. Probably telling Bentley he's already perf.


Joey finally got a bowl of something similar to ice-cream. I downloaded an ice-cream vending maching pack, but the actual ice-cream is only available if you have a DLC called Cool Kitchen Stuff. Now I want it. :( However, he could get some banana sorbet from it, so it wasn't too bad.



Silas, that's not where the bugs are.


I'm sure she fictionalised most of them. She doesn't actually have seven exes, right?

(Counts: William, Bertie Magnanimous, Matthew Strydon, Detective Nathan DeFalco, Teddy. That's only five. Elmer Tripp, Ben Curtis, Clifton the Pervert, Weldon the Racist, and Rudolph Winn don't count, as they were too short term.)


Silas likes cleaning, but bathing the dog isn't part of the job description.


Here's Wallace running away. No one had done anything wrong, he was actually very happy. He just wanted an adventure.


Somehow Maise got to know this fella named Owl Autry. I don't know when and where they met. Owl didn't actually look like this at first. I heavily edited him. His name and some of his features made me think he could be Native American, although he was randomly generated, so I just ran with it. Now he sort of reminds me of one of the guys on Brokenwood, who's ridick handsome.


You know, if Maisie was just a random Sim.... Yeah, they would happen.


Off to Henford to buy seeds from Agatha Crumplebottom.


Bentley doesn't like it when APEMANTUS BRUTUS scowls at him like that. As you can see, Joey has also made over another garden gnome to look like a villain from his story. Is this SEMPRONIUS STANLEY?!

LOL, but I just remembered a story one of my buddied from college told. His parents had this little sculpture of a mermaid in their garden, and one day they returned home to discover that their neighbour had given it a complete paint-job complete with a beard. It was clearly a female mermaid with breasts and all, but when they confronted the neighbour about it he insisted their sculpture was a merman.


Wallace is back, BTW.


Joey had been packing it on a bit, so he took a little trip to the gym with all the bohemian people.


Maisie joined him for moral support, but she wasn't allowed near the flesh-stripping treadmills again. Instead she got to build muscles of heavy typing.


I tested this little community lot I built in an empty space in their neighbourhood. At first I had it set as a park, but no NPC spawned to work the counter. Then I changed the lot type to café, and someone did.

Yeah, he's got green hear and a beard, but I can't make him over! His casual clothing is such a fantastic disaster, he's just allowed to exist.


I've been making over every townie I can get my hands on, and finally we're at a point where people can get together and most of them are somewhat periode appropriate. This isn't meant to be any particular year, just "mid century, 20th." Maisie and Joey are also about ten years too young, but it's AU, etc.

Mortimer Goth (in red) also dropped in. The Goths and the Crumplebottoms are the only townies I'll keep as who they were. Even the weird TS4 Calientes will be renamed and restyled when I get around to it.

While making her over in CAS, I accidentally gave her a giant nose. Then I couldn't help myself, she had to stay that way. This is Mrs. Lorna Hubbard. She's another aspiring author, and wonderfully eccentric as she is I bet she'll be a smash hit.


Silas made another bowl of salad, minus the earwax.


The Transmission Directive says we need cats now.


Joey, are you reading to the dog?


Summer season came around, which meant it was time for a new set of plants.


Silas gets really uncomfortable if everything isn't spick and span.


The problem with trying to play a period game is that the game will often dress townies in completely random clothing. These two ladies have full wardrobes of appropriate stuff, but the game can choose to ignore those outfits completely and assign some one-off ensemble.

But behold the handsome Newt Abernathy. He looks great after I made him over. (This is before.)


Maisie bought a very expensive thing I thought was a dragonfruit, but when she planted it this is what came up. It's apparently an alien plant.


Sometimes, everyone feels some kind of presence in the house. They all have a feeling it's a troubled young man and twin sisters. Joey especially feels the guy's presence when he paints. For some reason he was inspired to try painting the girls, just to put faces on them.


She's reading on the toilet. :)


Joey: Business paperwork will be the death of me. At least it will be why they're hauling me off in a straight-shirt laughing.

Gym trainer who invited herself over: That's so sad.
